Chachalung - the home of our 2 ambassadors in Nepal Gambu and Jiten

After a 15 hour drive from Kathmandu and a 2 hour walk, we received a warm welcome in Chachalung.

Before moving into our quarters, we made two home visits to non-mobile residents. In the morning of the next day, we set up our health camp, clothes distribution and gifts for the school in the classrooms of the school. Throughout the day, patients were cared for and medicines and glasses were given out.

On the second day, we were surprised with a special honour: the whole village with its students organised a huge party in our honour, no doctor had ever been to the village before. We were honoured with speeches, a dance performance and countless flower necklaces. The celebrations were interrupted by an emergency, after treating a child with a lacerated contusion to the head, we attended to all 120 patients until late in the evening.

On this day, the distribution of clothes for the children, the handing over of school utensils and the donation for the school also took place.
